American Education Week

President Obama proclaims November 13-19 American Education Week

President Barack Obama this week reaffirmed the importance of education both to our nation’s core values and to our future success by signing a proclamation for American Education Week.

The proclamation reads, in part: “Education has always been central to ensuring opportunity, and to instilling in all our citizens the defining American values of freedom, equality, and respect for one another.  Our Nation's schools can give students the tools, skills, and knowledge to participate fully in our democracy, and to succeed in college, career, and life.  This week, let us reaffirm the importance of education and recognize that we all share in the responsibility to educate our students.” (Presidential Proclamation)

The US House of Representatives has also issued an American Education Week Proclamation. (US House of Representatives Proclamation

Veteran's Day Assembly! Pride in our nation, pride in our community, pride in ourselves!

All members of the Pennoyer School family, faculty, staff, students, and administration, welcomed local veteran's including our student's parents, grandparents, uncles, and members of the village veteran's department in the Veteran's Day Assembly.

With speeches, songs, flag-waving displays of patriotism, as well as a presentation of thank you notes from students to the veterans, the assembly was a GREAT kick off to the day as well as a great school-wide THANK YOU to the men and women who fight and defend so that we are free.

Thank you to Mrs. Michaels, Mrs. Petergal, Mrs. Miceli, the students involved, and everyone else who joined together to organize and support the assembly.
